Overview

WeatherPi is a small weather application made for the Raspberry Pi. It turns a Pi and a compact screen into an always-on desk display showing the time, the location and the current temperature.

The interface is written in Python 3 using tkinter, with weather data from the Yahoo Weather API.

Highlights

  • Full-screen clock, location and current temperature
  • Weather icons that follow the current conditions
  • Runs on a Raspberry Pi with a small display

Why I built it

It was an excuse to put software and hardware together, taking an idea from a script on a laptop to a physical object sitting on a desk.
